In my coaching group, I work with many people who are pushing hard to reach their goals – whether it be health goals or financial – They are trying their best to work towards their best.

I’m spending some reading time each morning with Act Like a Success, Think like a Success and I wanted to share one take away from this morning!

Watch my short video of 4 Actions you can take to help you Reach your Goals:

When you are working on reaching your goals… and maybe you aren’t making the progress you need to or want to, this is the time to…

Be Honest with yourself

Really think about what is holding you back?

Is it your fear of failure? Or maybe focusing too much on your past?

Maybe your family isn’t supporting you and you are spending too much time trying to please them instead of working on your dreams and goals?

Once you are honest with yourself and can figure out some areas that you need to work through, next you can…

Get Real

When I say “Get Real” I mean not just thinking about the changes you need to make, but actually DOING them.

Maybe you have a really negative mindset – and you spend too much energy being negative and that pushing people away from you.

Successful people are positive thinkers.

Maybe you are a procrastinator. You have GREAT ideas… but they never come into reality because you never actually do anything – you put off anything that will take some effort or time.

For me, I need to make a daily list of things I need to do that day or they don’t get done.

Sometimes that is doing the laundry and sometimes that is making a video or writing a blog post… or following up with a new business partner.

If it is on my list, I know it is a priority and has to get done before I go to bed.

I have heard of one technique called a 6 list. The night before you write down the 6 top important things you MUST do the next day. When you wake up, you are focused on completing those 6 things. Once you have completed them, you can move on to less important things, but this will keep you from procrastinating the things that may be the hardest but most important.

Get New Habits

None of us have arrived yet – we all are working on being the best version of ourselves. This means that we need to focus on creating new habits in our lives – habits that successful people have and will bring us closer to our goals and dream.

You have to make a daily choice, because creating new habits will be HARD. We are creatures of habit – and that means we will easily go back to our old ways.

During the month of September, Adam and I were focused on eating healthy (losing weight) and getting more done in our business with the Miracle Morning. Some mornings, we didn’t wake up when we wanted to and we pushing the snooze button too many times because that was our old habit – but the days that we got up and focused before the girls woke up… it felt good! It was a new habit I want to add into my life.

It is a daily choice to wake up early and “get to work” – so as much as I have to fight the old habit of sleeping in… it is important for my success that I add in this new habit.

That could go for your diet – like eating a rich dessert after every dinner may be an old habit that you need to replace with a new habit of a healthy treat instead to reach your weight loss goals.

When you have reached your goals… it is VERY important the you do this next action…

Make a new Goal

We always have to be focused on “What’s next.” If you aren’t moving forward, you are moving back.

Once you add in one new habit of adding extra fruits and vegetables into your day, your next goal may be to add in 30 minutes of exercise into your day. We have never arrived, so we should always be focused on the next goal, the next thing we can be working towards – this will bring you closer to your ultimate long term goals.

What is one short term goal you are working on now and one long term goal?
