How to Lose Weight, Detox, and Feel Amazing this Fall

I have been talking a lot in my live videos about how Adam and I decided to make this a September to Remember! 

 

The Fall is historically a time when people tend to gain 5-10 pounds… Holidays, Parties and cooler weather tend to encourage people to put down their guard and the weight begins to pile on steadily.

 

How do we stop this trend???

 

Goals, Commitment, and Action!

 

Adam and I started with making some goals for the month of September. We started waking up 2 hours earlier to get in some reading and focus before the girls woke up. We also set a goal to focus on our health for this month and lose some weight, cleanse, and detox. We are going on a cruise in November, so that is our motivation to look and feel our best! Next, let me share our plan.

Our Weight Loss Plan

 

We decided we were going to use Our System to help us Cleanse, Remove, and Reboot!

We also wanted to eat as healthy as possible – so we wanted to focus on eating as much fruits and vegetables plus protein as possible and cut out any wheat. We still indulged in dark chocolate, we didn’t count calories, and we didn’t go hungry. We had good intentions of adding exercise to our monthly plan, but I want to be honest with you and say that didn’t end up happening lol. I do use my FitBit to track my steps, but most days I was under my daily goal (again, I do just want to be honest).

 

Saying that though… I’m still BLOWN AWAY with our personal results as of 25 days in!!

 

Adam just weighed himself this morning and has lost a total of 13 pounds!! I have been consistently down 3 pounds (my weight tends to fluctuate, so being under 3 pounds consistently is awesome for me!)

 

 

Not just the scale showing progress, but I feel better too! I know that when I nourish my body it is able to digest food better, give me sustained energy throughout the day, and I have more confidence as well.

    DIY Make-Up Brush Cleaner

    I’m not someone who wears make-up every day… most days you will find me with my hair in a pony-tail and just a little mascara. When I do wear make-up I LOVE using brushes!! I use them for my concealer, powders, even applying my favorite primer. I must admit that I didn’t know how I was supposed to clean my brushes at all!

    When I started thinking about my brushes and keeping them clean… I started thinking about all the things that can live in them:

    • Old make-up
    • Dirt & debris
    • Bacteria
    • Oils
    • Dead skin cells

    Eeewwwwww, YUCK!!!!

    Okay, we HAVE to clean these brushes!!! But, there is no reason to run to harsh chemicals to clean them, I have my favorite all natural recipe that is super duper easy for keeping your brushes clean of all that yuck.

     

    What you will need:

    One bowl

    1 1/2 cups of warm water

    1/2 cup of distilled white vinegar

    10 drops of Tea Tree Oil

    10 Drops of Lavender

     

    Directions:

    In your bowl, mix together the warm water and vinegar. Add in the 10 drops of each tea tree oil and lavender oil. Swirl brushes around in bowl. After they are clean, lay them flat to dry over-night. They will be ready to use again in the morning. 🙂

     

    How often should you clean your brushes?

    It is recommended that for concealer and foundation brushes you should clean them once a week.=&0=&Brushes that are used around the eyes should be cleaned at least twice a month, while all others can be washed once a month.

    5 Traits of a Leader

    In my business, I hear from so many people “I want to be a great leader” … but what does that actually mean?

    I would have never ever EVER said that I was a leader. In my natural state, I am a total introvert – and would rather just be at home alone lol. I’m not very good at making quick decisions. HOW in the world could I be a leader!?!

    Leaders are Learners

    One thing I have seen across my team over the past two years is that Leaders are Learners. A leader never is satisfied with the knowledge they have at one point, they are always looking for a way to become a better version of themselves.

    This knowledge can come from various places:

    • Going to conferences and in person training
    • Reading books
    • Listening to podcasts
    • Taking a class

     

    Leaders lead from the Front

    A true leader is working harder than anyone else on their team. They are putting in more hours because the speed of the leader = the speed of the team. A leader knows that they can’t ask their team to do anything they aren’t willing to do themselves (even if it means failing or being out of their comfort zones).

    The respect they will earn from their team will be of such great value, because their team will actually listen to them when they share a tip or any knowledge they have learned (from the first point of leaders being learners). Their team will know how hard they are working – they will be inspired to push themselves even harder.

    If you have a team who is following you, a leader is going to praise and edify their team. Leaders recognize that someone who is valued for their efforts is going to work twice as hard than someone who feels they don’t get the praise they deserve. By doing so, your team will grow to love you as a leader (and NOT just their boss!).

     

    Leaders admit their Failures

    No one is perfect… and no leader is perfect. A team is going to respect and follow their leader when they know their leader is being honest and transparent.
