FTC DISCLOSURE & DISCLAIMER
Grassfed Mama • grassfedmama.com
Effective: May 21, 2026 | Updated as required by FTC 16 C.F.R. Part 255
Transparency is one of the most important values of this blog. Grass Fed Mama is built on trust — trust between one autism parent and another, and between this community and the brands occasionally featured here. This page explains every type of relationship that could influence the content you read on this site or see on our social media channels, in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement Guides (16 C.F.R. Part 255, as updated June 2023 and enforced through 2026).
If you ever have a question about a specific piece of content and whether compensation was involved, please don’t hesitate to reach out at angela@grassfedmama.com.
1. Affiliate Links
This site participates in affiliate marketing programs. This means that some links on this blog — and sometimes in our social media posts — are affiliate links. If you click one of these links and make a purchase, Grass Fed Mama may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.
What this means for you: Affiliate commissions help keep this blog running. They do not influence which products are recommended or what is written about them. We only link to products we genuinely use or believe in.
Affiliate programs we participate in may include, but are not limited to:
• Amazon Associates Program
• Other brand-specific affiliate or referral programs disclosed within individual posts
Per FTC requirements: Every blog post or social media caption containing affiliate links includes a clear disclosure at or near the top of the content, such as “This post contains affiliate links” or “[Affiliate link]” placed directly next to the link.
2. Sponsored Posts & Paid Partnerships
From time to time, Grass Fed Mama partners with brands on sponsored content. This means a brand has paid (in cash or in kind) for a post, video, caption, or other piece of content featuring their product or service.
All sponsored content is clearly labeled. You will see one or more of the following disclosures:
• On blog posts: “This post is sponsored by [Brand]” or “Sponsored” at the top of the post
• On Instagram: #ad, #sponsored, or the platform’s built-in “Paid Partnership” label in the caption — placed before the “more” cutoff so it is visible without tapping
• On Facebook: Labeled “Sponsored” or “Paid Partnership” in the post text
Our editorial standard: Sponsorship never changes our honest opinion. If a product does not meet our standards for the families in this community, we will not promote it. Sponsored content reflects our genuine experience.
3. Gifted Products & Gifted Partnerships
Sometimes brands send products to Grassfed Mama at no charge in exchange for honest coverage — a review, a photo, a social media post, or a blog feature. These are known as “gifted” or “product-for-review” arrangements.
Under FTC guidelines, receiving a product for free — even without any payment — is a “material connection” that must be disclosed. We always do this.
Current and recent gifted partnerships include:
• Vegega Raised Garden Beds (gifted raised garden bed in exchange for content)
• Other gifted products will be disclosed individually within each post or caption
Disclosure language used for gifted content includes: “This product was gifted by [Brand],” “#gifted,” or “Thank you to [Brand] for sending this product to review.”
Honest reviews, always: Receiving a product for free does not guarantee a positive review. Our audience is primarily autism parents making real decisions for their families and homes. We take that responsibility seriously.
4. Opinions Are Always Our Own
Whether a post is sponsored, contains affiliate links, features a gifted product, or is entirely independent, the opinions, experiences, and recommendations expressed on this blog are always honest and our own.
• We are never paid to express a particular opinion.
• Brand partners do not review or approve content before it is published (unless specifically agreed to and disclosed).
• We reserve the right to decline or discontinue any partnership that conflicts with our values or the trust of this community.
5. Professional Background Disclaimer
The author of Grassfed Mama holds a graduate degree and previously held licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). Content on this blog that touches on communication, speech-language development, gestalt language processing (GLP), Natural Language Acquisition (NLA), AAC, apraxia, dyspraxia, and related topics is informed by that background.
Important: This is not professional or clinical advice. Content on this blog is shared from the perspective of a parent and former clinician for informational and community-support purposes only. It does not constitute medical, therapeutic, speech-language, or educational advice and should not be treated as such. Always work with your child’s licensed clinicians, therapists, and educational team for individualized guidance.
Sharing clinical knowledge in a personal, parent-to-parent context does not create a therapist-client relationship between the author and any reader.
6. General Content Disclaimer
All content on Grassfed Mama — including articles, social media posts, and any linked resources — is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. While every effort is made to ensure accuracy, we make no representations or warranties about the completeness, reliability, or accuracy of any information.
• Content related to autism, development, parenting, and health topics is informational only and not a substitute for professional advice.
• Content related to gardening, products, and lifestyle is based on personal experience and may not apply to every reader’s situation.
• We are not responsible for actions taken based on information found on this site. Readers are encouraged to do their own research and consult qualified professionals.
7. How We Label Disclosures Across Platforms
The FTC requires disclosures to be “clear and conspicuous” — meaning easy to see and easy to understand before engaging with the content. Here is how Grassfed Mama applies this across channels:
On the Blog (grassfedmama.com)
• Disclosure appears at the top of any post containing affiliate links or sponsored/gifted content
• Example: “Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links. If you click and purchase, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.”
• Example: “This post was sponsored by [Brand]. All opinions are my own.”
On Instagram
• #ad or #sponsored appears in the first line of the caption — before the ‘more’ cutoff
• #gifted is used for product-for-review arrangements
• Instagram’s “Paid Partnership” tag is used where applicable
• No disclosure is buried in a string of hashtags at the end of a caption
On Facebook
• Posts note sponsorship or gifted status in plain language within the post text
• Facebook’s “Paid Partnership” label is used where available
8. Third-Party Links & Resources
This blog may include links to third-party websites, tools, books, therapists, apps, and other resources. These are shared for informational purposes only. Grass Fed Mama does not necessarily endorse, warrant, or take responsibility for the content, products, or services offered by third parties.
Links to resources related to autism, speech-language therapy, AAC, homeschooling, and related topics are provided to support families in their own research and are not endorsements of any specific program, provider, or therapeutic approach.
9. Results Disclaimer
Any results, outcomes, milestones, or progress described on this blog relating to communication development, therapy approaches, or parenting strategies reflect the personal experience of the Grass Fed Mama family and may not be typical. Every child is different. What has worked for our family may not work for yours, and nothing shared here should be taken as a guarantee or promise of any particular outcome.
10. Updates to This Disclosure Page
This page is updated as our partnerships, programs, and applicable regulations change. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
