My Prayer for you, Dreamer

Today I’m praying for you, Dreamer <3

The world doesn’t like dreamers – They never have!

I’m not sure if it is just that people aren’t comfortable with new ideas… or they don’t like change.

But God LOVES dreams 🙂

God is the God of BIG Dreams.

They don’t scare him one bit!!

I think of Joseph who was made fun of by his family for being a Dreamer. God created those dreams inside Joseph’s heart and they were SO BIG that everyone just laughed and mocked Joseph. read more

Many people forget that beauty starts on the inside. A great way to look your best is to feel your best too. I start my day right by drinking my Greens to give me the superfoods and probiotics I need to stay healthy and to feel amazing too. It is a powder you can add to water, juice, smoothies or even yogurt! I love the berry flavor the best.

Some people feel like they would like to lose a few pounds before the Big Day – all that you can do before your walk down the aisle. read more

A Year Later – Happy Birthday Annaleigh

I honestly can’t believe it was a year ago that I met this sweet little girl. The events leading up to her arrival had me in a pretty dark place emotionally and spiritually.

From the very beginning of her pregnancy, I was very concerned that she may have a genetic disease that I passed on called Pelizaeus-Merzbacher Disease. We didn’t know if she was a boy or girl – and we prayed and prayed that she would be a healthy baby.

We celebrated that she was a healthy baby girl when we found out the news when I was 15.5 weeks along.  We knew that God had directed our hearts toward having another baby and that he was taking care of her. read more

Both of these women are way more talented than I am! So, I’m so glad I’m able to show them off to all of you.

Jamie from Adorably Bow-tastic is also a great photographer. She has done all of our family pictures since moving to Richmond. You can check her photography page here. She also has such an eye for trendy fashion items for you and your family. This Reindeer bow will be the talk of all the other soccer moms when they see it on your little girl this season. You can purchase one from her store here.
Carly from Morgie Pie started sewing once she had her own little girl to play dress up with in 2010. She has grown her hobby into a great business. She can make custom order dresses and also monogram almost anything you would like! I love her monogrammed fleece headbands the most for my own gift. She can applique any idea onto shirts and add your little bug’s name to it! Send her a message on her facebook page for any orders you need this season or for all your holiday and monogramming needs.

Good luck to all of you! read more

First Sewing Project for Annaleigh – Easy Burp Cloth

Since the obvious first thing to do when you find out you are having a girl is to go shopping or make something… I decided to try the latter. I am by no means great at sewing. I do have a serger that makes a lot of projects easier.

English: A Brother overlock serger machine.

I am very timid when it comes to starting a project by myself with no previous instructions (maybe fear of failure???). I saw on Pinterest some very easy burp cloth tutorials that I figured I could probably try with little disappointment.

I had some flannel material I bought on sale probably a year ago with no idea what to do with it. I have plenty of blankets left over from Aidalyn, so Annaleigh is probably okay in that department – she will also be a summer baby and won’t need as heavy blankets as Aidalyn. So a burp cloth it was! read more

Your Love Never Fails… It’s a Girl!!!

I still can’t believe it. We found out 3 days ago and I’m still pinching myself.

We are having a girl!!!

Introductions

She looked so perfect on the ultrasound. We saw her little legs kicking, her heart pumping… it all made my heart melt.

This pregnancy has been much different for me emotionally than with Aidalyn. With Aidalyn, we were just so excited about adding this mystical thing called a baby into our lives. Neither of us really had much experience with babies. We didn’t know what we were getting into, but we were thrilled! read more

Swaying for a Girl – Updated

Swaying… What does that mean?

So, I’m not sure the origins of swaying (creating certain environments to favor a specific gender outcome). But my experience with it started in 2009 when my husband and I started talking about trying to have a baby. When we swayed, we followed the “Shettles” method – I wasn’t putting too much faith into what we did: diet, supplements, sexual position, timing…

At 17 1/2 weeks along in my pregnancy, I went to an ultrasound with my husband and midwife. When the tech put the scope on my belly, we immediately saw the “potty shot” – legs spread wide open. The tech said “well it looks pretty obvious to me.” Adam and I didn’t want to say anything. We just looked at each other in silence… It looked like a girl, but we weren’t the experts – and our hopes were obviously for a girl, so we didn’t want to jump to anything too soon and be heartbroken… then the tech announced “it’s a girl!!” We were so surprised and honestly couldn’t believe it for a few days. She has been such a blessing for our family. read more
