Trim Healthy Mama Review

Trim Healthy Mama Book Giveaway At Grassfed Mama

Trim Healthy Mama Review

Trim Healthy Mama is the latest “diet” book craze. It seems like every where I turned there was something about Trim Healthy Mama. I was curious at first, and skeptical.

I had to find out for myself what all the fuss was about!

What was so new and different about this plan?

I heard about Trim Healthy Mama first from my sister. She and her family were starting to implement the plan… and seeing results.

Then, I joined the free Facebook group to learn as much as I could before buying the book. I was simply AMAZED at the transformations I saw in the Trim Healthy Mama Facebook group. I could not get enough of the life changing stories from these women (and some men too!). Joining the Facebook group is a must for starting out. There are amazing moderators to help with answers to any questions and also getting advice and encouragement. I would highly recommend joining the group to help you with your Trim Healthy Lifestyle.  read more

7 Ways to Use Cranberry Sauce

cranberriesCranberries are in season! I love cranberries for many reasons.

They are tart and add a nice flavor to turkey and dressing on Thanksgiving. They are great paired with pumpkin in muffins and breads. And they make a great No Sugar Added Cranberry Sauce!

They are also very healthy for you!

Cranberries are high in antioxidants. They are great for keeping your urinary track healthy. Cranberries are considered one of the World’s Healthiest Foods. It is very high in vitamin C, so it will keep you healthy during the sick season.

Here are my top picks for using cranberries this season:

1) Eat it with Oatmeal

Cook 1/2 cup of oats with 3/4 cups of water and 1/4 cup of cranberry sauce. Season with salt and stevia. Top with some stevia sweetened greek yogurt!

2) Use as a spread or topping on bread

My No Sugar Added Cranberry sauce is a Fuel Pull (meaning low carbs and low fat for Trim healthy Mamas) so it could be on a piece of sourdough bread or some coconut flour bread or almond flour bread.  read more

Your Love Never Fails… It’s a Girl!!!

I still can’t believe it. We found out 3 days ago and I’m still pinching myself.

We are having a girl!!!

Introductions

She looked so perfect on the ultrasound. We saw her little legs kicking, her heart pumping… it all made my heart melt.

This pregnancy has been much different for me emotionally than with Aidalyn. With Aidalyn, we were just so excited about adding this mystical thing called a baby into our lives. Neither of us really had much experience with babies. We didn’t know what we were getting into, but we were thrilled! read more

You Hold me Now

Sometimes we go through times and there is a song that speaks to your inner core and just helps you put faith back in God and be reminded of his love.

When I was pregnant with Aidalyn, the song was “You Hold me Now” by Hillsong. You can listen to it by clicking here.

I was dealing with lot of emotions surrounded by a normal pregnancy on top of hopes and prayers for a healthy child. This song just spoke to me. God was able to tell me that no matter the outcome, He was holding me and holding my child. He also was able to show me there will be a day of complete healing. read more

Confessions of a Church Hunter

We just moved to Richmond, Va. Along with hunting for a house we had to also “hunt” for a new church. I know that some of you are our friends and know how involved we were at Water’s Edge, our church in Lake Charles.

Water’s Edge was one of the reasons it was very hard to leave Lake Charles. We had been on the launch team and seen it grow from about 25 people to over 1,200 people in under 5 years. It was such a special journey and we met some awesome people along the way. read more

Living within your means

Adam and I were married really young (21 & 19 respectively).

I am so thankful we were introduced to Dave Ramsey before we were married. I will credit this to Daryl Wolgemuth teaching one night at the college group. From that point on, Adam and I read Dave Ramsey’s books and listened to his radio show preparing us for when we were going to have to live on a budget.

It is said that before you get married you need to agree on the 4 main pieces: Money, Dealing with In-laws, Children, and Religion. Doing so will save you from a multitude of fights and disagreements later on. read more

Home for a Baby – Adoption

Adam and I have always had a heart for adoption.

Adam’s aunt and uncle adopted their only son, Henry. My brother in law‘s family adopted two little girls, Selena and Stephanie, almost 10 years ago. Adopting for us isn’t a new idea, we’ve been talking about it for years.

We believe as Christians, the act of adoption is one very close to what God did with us. God loved us enough to welcome us into his family and call us his. We would love to be able to welcome a child into our home and make them a part of us, share our name with them. read more

The Grassfed Mama is Swaying – What did I get into!?!

I mentioned previously about the idea of gender swaying in another post. We actually did sway with our daughter and it worked I guess. The more research I do, the more it looks like such a mild sway attempt – I need to give God all the credit of the sway! I feel he his ultimately in control of our gender choice and is probably laughing at any attempt we have at choosing our gender – I digress.
