The “Foods I will never ever touch” list….

I really liked this post by Alli about her “foods she will never touch”.

I find that there are certain foods that everyone has put on their “do not touch” list. I agree with most of these – and I understand where she is coming from on all of them.

I have a weakness for sushi though! Sushi falls into my 20% leeway – I do stick to Salmon and Tuna – and stay away from crustaceans (crabs and shrimp) because they act like filters in the water and have a lot of impurities in their flesh (definitely not Kosher). We get sushi for special occasions for sure. read more

Did you know that it is estimated that up to 75% of the world’s population shows an intolerance to lactose.

I honestly didn’t know that I was lactose intolerance until I started getting treatment from a naturopath.

We are born with the right digestive enzymes (lactase) to breakdown lactose from breastmilk. As we grow older, our body knows that we shouldn’t be drinking breastmilk anymore and stops making the enzymes to break down lactose. read more

Coconut flour Zucchini pancakes – Grain free

I really need to practice what I preach, haha.

I said in a previous post how dairy is “mucous forming.” Well, Aidalyn’s nose has been running for the past month it seems. I just figured it was allergies and kept giving her homeopathics and herbs for it, but it never really got better. I mentioned it at the chiropractor’s visit today and he told me it was probably a reaction to dairy. Of course it is!

Did you know that 75% of people are lactose intolerant? Hummmm – that’s a lot of people! read more
