Read My Home Birth Story Here

There is a little bit of a gap between my middle child and my now baby (5.5 years!) so I sort of felt like a new mom again this go around.

It was really hard for me to remember what I actually needed for a baby… not what I was “supposed” to buy… but what I was ACTUALLY going to use.

So that’s why I’m coming here… 6 months into this baby mama thing… sharing what I’m actually using and what you really should have on your registry. read more

Two Healthy Halloween Treats

Can I be honest… Halloween isn’t my favorite.
Because all I am hearing lately is…

“Can I have a piece of candy?”
“Can I have a piece of candy?”
“Can I have a piece of candy?”

I usually can avoid this battle altogether… but during Halloween…

CANDY IS EVERYWHERE!!!

Besides the obvious… SUGAR IS MY NEMESIS.

It really can be detrimental to our health (and our kid’s health too!)

When our kids eat too much sugar they are more likely to get sick, get cavities, and just BE CRAZY PEOPLE!!

So here are some  Healthy Halloween Treats  my girls get excited about (without any of the sugar!)

What are your BEST tips to help your kids limit the sugar during Halloween?

How To Get Your Kids To Brush Their Teeth… And Have Fun!

If you have little ones around the house, then you’ve probably had this issue.

Your kiddos don’t want to brush their teeth!! Or they do the absolute minimum and you have to hound them to even do that.

Imagine this… Your kids BEG you each night to run and go brush their teeth!

Would that change your morning or bedtime?

Could it really get done WITHOUT the struggle?

Our 7 year old had a specific thing she wanted for Christmas, an Amazon Dot, which is a little hockey puck like device which is voice activated and plays music, games, plus a ton of other “Smart Home” features.

We have decided as a family that we don’t have TVs in bedrooms and tablets and what not aren’t used in bedrooms (especially at night) but this ended up being a way that she could play music, dance, and enjoy herself in a way I could monitor.

Now, what does this have to do with Brushing Teeth?

Alexa (the platform that the Dot runs on) has add-ons called “Skills” and there is a brand new skill that has transformed Brushing time!

It’s called “Chompers“!

Chompers basically is a 2 minute Podcast for kids where they will hear jokes, riddles, stories, fun facts, silly songs and more!

It’s designed to “Keep them giggling – and brushing – for the full two minutes that dentists recommend.”

And guess what? It works!

My kiddos have begged to go “Do Chompers!” for the last 4 days, so I wanted to share this with you!

You can check out Chompers here, and you can even use it directly on your phone as a Podcast if you prefer!

I know that just having a little less stress around taking care of our teeth has been so nice for me! I hope this helps you too : )

P.S. Another big factor healthy teeth is getting enough fruits and veggies, check out 4 ways that I sneak more healthy fruits and veggies into my kids diets here!

Melted Crayon Halloween Pumpkin

‘Tis the season for all Fall Crafts!

And of course when the leaves start dropping… It’s Pumpkin Time!

I personally love finding cute ways to decorate pumpkins that don’t involve carving…

When you carve a pumpkin, it gets MESSY – Plus I just get nervous with the kids around sharp objects lol.

This is a SUPER cute idea that will give you a unique pumpkin + PLUS use all those broken crayons you have laying around your craft room.

If you want a HACK to help your pumpkin stay cute all season long, check out three tips to help your pumpkin last.

How to make a Melted Crayon Halloween Pumpkin

First gather all your broken crayons.

Wipe down your Pumpkin (we used Tea Tree Oil to clean and kill any germs)

Then we laid the crayons on top of the pumpkin.

When we turned on the hair dryer – the crayons FLEW!

PRO TIP: We used a glue stick to glue the crayons in place – just to give the crayons a little more stability.

It took less than 10 minutes to melt the crayons, some melted faster than others! You can use the hair dryer to direct where the melted wax is going to flow.

After the crayons were melted and dried, the girls hot glued some googly eyes and drew a silly face on the pumpkin.

From the top, you can see all the melted crayon colors! It looks so fun and cute!

Here is our silly melted crayon pumpkin welcoming all our visitors this fall! read more

Book Club: Crash the Chatterbox (Hearing God’s Voice Above all Others)

One of the best parts of owning your own business is the personal development…

I fully believe that each year you can measure growth by the people you meet and the books you read. What is great is that as you are reading and improving your mindset, you are learning how to help others and reach your own goals too.

I had a few friends recommend reading Crash the Chatterbox  by Steven Furtick. I thought that it would be a great book for a “Video Book Club” and here we are!

This video covers the first section of the book:

What the Video Now

What are your thoughts?

Is it helpful to meditate on the Words of God to drown out the voices of fear and doubt?

If this was helpful, I would love if you would pass it on!

Your Healthy Back To School Guide!

Fall is my FAVORITE Time of Year!

Back to school is always exciting too, I always think of one of my favorite lines from “You’ve Got Mail” (even if I don’t live in New York!)

As summer days give way to fall, it’s back to school with busier schedules that can leave us with less sleep, less relaxing, and less sunshine and vitamin D. It’s no wonder your family can start to move a little slow, and even start getting sick!

Thankfully, I’ve got a simple healthy solution to help everyone stay happy and healthy in this busy time of year!

In my house, I am all about prevention – which just means to help our bodies fight before we even get sick! One of my secrets for this time of year is…. Defend.

DEFEND is a blend of several  powerful essential oils that works to put your immune system in the best possible shape. With a blend of rosemary, eucalyptus, zesty lemon, and the rich spiciness of cinnamon and clove it’s got what you need to give your system the boost it needs! (Plus, it smells like Christmas and holidays, so it is the perfect scent for your house too!)

Here’s some of my favorite ways to use it around the house and for back to school!

1 DIY Hand Sanitizer Spray:

In a 2oz glass spray bottle, mix 20 drops of Defend and distilled water and shake well. Simply use it for sanitizing surfaces around your home or at school!

Pin this for later:

2 Diffuse with DEFEND:

Sleep is your body’s time to reset and reboot. This is the perfect time to use an Essential Oil Diffuser and diffuse while you sleep (both Defend and Chill are good for this!) This will help you wake refreshed and ready to face the day!

3 Cell Phone Clean Up:

Did you know your cell phone is one of the dirtiest things you touch every day? Spritz a microfiber cloth with Defend and wipe down your phone screen at the end of the day. Simple maintenance goes so far with keeping yourself healthy!

4 Don’t Be a Germ Sponge!

Speaking of germs, that kitchen sponge isn’t as clean as you might think. In fact, studies have found that your toilet brush might be cleaner! Do you want to wash dishes with that?! If you like to use a sponge in the kitchen, keep your essential oils nearby. Dropping 3 drops into the sponge and then rinse well with warm water will go a LONG way!
My husband says having the right oil around is like a personal defensive lineman that will keep our family going!
