Chocolate makes everything a little better doesn’t it?

I’m always on the hunt for chocolate snacks that satisfy with my sweet tooth without overloading me on the sugar!

 

Note: If you didn’t know, I have struggled with Gestational Diabetes with each of my pregnancies, here’s some info on how I beat it naturally!

 

Given my history and just being honest with myself, if I don’t find sweet things (with chocolate hopefully!) that is satisfying I’m going to end up chowing down on cookies or ice cream.

 

Thankfully I have a new favorite (and SIMPLE) recipe!

Here’s the Recipe Breakdown:

 

Ingredients

1 Egg
1 tablespoon of cocoa powder
1/2 tsp of baking powder (I prefer an Aluminum Free option if possible)
Pinch of salt
1 tsp of vanilla extract
2 tablespoons of almond butter (try to stick with unsweetened if possible!)
1 packer of stevia sweetener (my preferred no calorie sweetener)

Directions

  1. Grease a large mug (I usually recommend Coconut Oil)
  2. Mix all the ingredients together.
  3. Microwave for 1 minute on high

And that’s it!

 

I’m simple, yummy, and has almost no sugar (and a little protein from the egg!)

DIY Calming Lavender Pillow Spray

Moms, the day that’s all about you is almost here—Mother’s Day! With everything you do as a super mom, you’ve earned a day of “R & R.”

The trouble with a lot of the “Sleep Help” products and recipes out there is that they are full of fillers or chemicals you might not want on your pillow while you sleep at night!

 

Thankfully, you can make it a day to rest easy with this DIY Calming Lavender Pillow Spray. My husband actually made this with my girls as a surprise and I loved how it helped me relax at bed time!

 

Enjoy this yourself, or make this with your kiddos for other moms who could use a little more rest in their lives!

8 oz. glass spray bottle
Lavender Essential Oil
• 1 tbs. Witch Hazel
• Distilled water

 

=&1=&

1. Pour 1 tbs. witch hazel and drop 30 drops of Lavender Essential Oil into the glass spray bottle
2. Fill the remainder with distilled water
3. Screw on lid and shake to mix
4. Spray on your pillow and rest easy!

 

The great thing is that this simple recipe has what you need to relax but doesn’t have any additives or other things that you might have to worry about having around the house. It’s hard to be 3 ingredients for simplicity!

I’ve used this same formula for my daughters rooms as well, and it truly works!

A Baby Journal You Will Actually Use!

How many of you were actually good about putting things in your children’s “Baby Books”?

 

My eldest daughter Aidalyn found her baby book when were going through some things in her room, and she guilted me pretty hard on not having much of anything in it! Total #MomWin right there

DIY: Holiday Scented Pinecones

The best thing about fall is the holiday scents… what am I saying? The best thing about fall is EVERYTHING!!

But mama can’t be simmering a pot of apple cider on the stove every day, amiright?

and I don’t love burning candles… fires and kids sort of make me visualize this happening in my house:

Plus, you really don’t know what you are breathing in when you burn a conventional candle. Most are filled with artificial scents – and I’m just not sure I want to be breathing that in all day.

 

So, this is a really fun and memory filled DIY idea to keep your favorite holiday scents in your home without worrying about chemicals or anything else scary, lol.

 

DIY Holiday Scented Pinecones

 

 

 

1 – First, go on a nature hunt with your kids

 

 

We brought our Halloween buckets along for extra gathering fun!  What you want to look for is any pinecones you can find… They can be small, large, closed or open.

Of course, we collected some really fun colored leaves too (and I may get another activity out of those later.)

 

2 – Bake Pinecones

Bake your pinecones in the oven heated to 200 degrees. This will help any closed pinecones open further and prep them for the essential oils.

3 – Prepare Essential Oil Solution

When you use and store essential oils, you should always use glass. You can buy glass bottles or you may can find an empty glass bottle you can re-purpose! (We used an old olive oil glass bottle and just cleaned it well and found a spray top that fit it)

 

 

Ingredients:

8 oz of Distilled Water

30 Drops of Defend Essential Oil Blend

1 Glass Spray Bottle

8-10 Pinecones

Glass Bowl

 

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in spray bottle, shake to mix.

Place pinecones in glass bowl and spray solution over pinecones to soak.

Cover and let sit for 24 hours.

Display pinecones in house to naturally scent the air!

Defend Foaming Hand Soap

To help “DEFEND” each time you wash your hands, this DIY for =&0=& is just what you need:

• 3 Tbs. Liquid Castile soap (unscented)
• 8 oz. foaming soap dispenser
• 15 drops It Works! DEFEND
• 3 drops Vitamin E oil (optional)
• Distilled water

Add soap to the dispenser. Add It Works! DEFEND and Vitamin E Oil. Fill dispenser with distilled water.

 

Fall Coffee Sugar Scrub

Do cooler temps have you looking for socks? Warm those toes and recycle your coffee grounds with this =&1=&!

• 1 cup coffee grounds
• 3 Tbs. sugar
• 6 Tbs. It Works! Fractionated Coconut Oil
• 10 drops It Works! DEFEND

Mix well and store in a glass jar with lid.
