The Perfect DIY Shaving Cream Slime

My girls (especially my oldest) LOVE science and experimenting at home. My mom gave us a book full of science experiments to do together this year and it is one of their favorite things.

Whether you homeschool or not, This saline solution slime is perfect for kids as a science and sensory play activity.

I get stressed out easily when my kids are making a mess in my kitchen (which happens often, haha!) But this is pretty contained in one big bowl (and as you can see, you can bring the fun outside too). read more

Snowman Essential Oil Air Freshener

Christmas is the perfect time to get the whole family together and make really fun crafts to give. I found this Snowman Essential Oil Air Freshener from Designs by Miss Mandee and I just knew it would be a big hit!

This time of year is a great time to teach our kids about giving and not just getting what is on their own Christmas list – plus if your kids are anything like mine… they LOVE craft time! My girls love it when they can make something and give it to someone they love.

One reason this idea stuck out to me is because we love using essential oils to freshen our whole house naturally. About 10 years ago, we started making steps to live a more natural life… and that started with eating whole foods and quickly moved to using essential oils to remove some chemicals and toxins from our home (for cleaning and freshening).  Plus, Essential Oils also can make really great DIY gifts just in time for Christmas and these Snowman Air Fresheners were really fun to make (plus the girls got to practice their cutting skills). read more

DIY Eucalyptus Bath Salt Recipe

Christmas is just around the corner, so I wanted to share this simple DIY Eucalyptus Bath Salt recipe that makes a great gift to give or to make for yourself.

Recently, I have learned so much about how important it is for our health to soak in a salt bath… and I know in this fast paced world sometimes a bath is just needed to relax.

For best results you want to soak for at least 20 minutes and best results would be for 40 minutes.

Epsom Salts

We chose Epsom salts because of the extra benefits of magnesium. When I was pregnant, I developed a deficiency in magnesium and my midwife told me to start taking epsom salt baths 3x a week to help. They worked so well – I was amazed! I was having trouble sleeping and restless leg syndrome (both common in pregnancy) and the baths helped so much. read more

How to Freshen Your Laundry Naturally!

Do you love doing your laundry??

It is certainly not one of my favorites… but I do love all the tips and tricks of how I can do my laundry more natural!

Did you know that most laundry detergent and dryer sheets are FILLED with toxic chemicals??? It is crazy what is allowed into our homes.

When I became a mom, we started cloth diapering. When you use cloth diapers you have to be very aware of what you use in your washer and dryer (if you don’t line dry).

I started using Charlie’s Soap back then, and still use it today. With my cloth diapers, most of the time I would line dry – but I missed that fresh scent. read more

How to Make an Easy DIY Lemon Sugar Scrub!

Confession time, I am a bit of a Skin Care Junky!

I have likely tried dozens of different skin care routines, scrubs, creams, etc. Mostly because I enjoy them and it’s fun trying to find the perfect combination!

Although I love my Exfoliating Peel, I also really enjoy sugar scrubs! I have been playing around with making my own scrub and have a really easy and fun do it yourself scrub!

Thankfully, it’s very easy!

  1. Mix 2 Cups of Sugar with 1/3 Cup of Fractionated Coconut Oil
  2. Drop in your favorite Essential Oil (I have been using 15 drops of Lemon Oil)
  3. To liven it up more, maybe add some Lemon Zest and mix well!

It’s just that simple! I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

How to Protect Wood Tables

I’m not sure if you have seen, but we have had a very crazy year so far!

My nephew passed away unexpectedly and it really put a lot of things in perspective. We decided that we weren’t going to put off a lot of things we had been throwing around and one of those was moving closer to our family. We work from home, so we had the ability to move anywhere.

We started by selling almost everything we had in our house in Virginia. We went through everything and if we didn’t love it… we weren’t going to move it. read more
